Listen To Me

(Written by Brett Mikels & Rob Souriall © 2006)
When is it safe enough, to let you in
Show you the darker part of me
I hold it close, it’s no surprise
But I’m not the only one

If I find trust you
When I don’t even trust myself
Would you use it against me

Listen to me, would you please
No judgment for who I am
And when you listen to me, can you see
Through the life I wear to hide the real me

I’m not sure where to start, or how to say
The things I only say to me
And if I tell you what’s on my mind
Can you promise me one thing

That if I finally trust in you
When I don’t even trust myself
You won’t use it against me

Listen to me, would you please
No judgment for who I am
When you listen to me, can you see
Through the life I wear to hide the real me

Don’t try to rescue me, I’ll be alright
Don’t try to save me, this is just my life

Maybe it’s safe enough, to let you in
This is the darker part of me

Listen to me, would you please
No judgment for who I am
When you listen to me, can you see
Through the life I wear to hide the real me

Listen to me, would you please
No judgment for who I am
When you listen to me, can you see
Through the life I wear to hide the real me
